FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - ONLINE FITNESS COACHING
1. What are some of the benefits of online fitness coaching?
- Scheduling is not an issue anymore. You don't depend on someone else's schedule. You can workout whenever and wherever you prefer.
- We can be more flexible with the workout structure than a typical one-hour personal training session. Some of my clients split their workouts into two or three parts for example.
- Your results are our first priority. With online fitness coaching, we take into account your schedule, lifestyle, preferences, equipment availability and much more.
- You don't have to go to a gym if you don't want to! Many of our clients achieved their health and fitness goals by simply working out from home without the use of expensive equipment. We can also advise you on getting particular exercise equipment that we think might help you in reaching your goals.
- Ongoing accountability and support. Rather than seeing your trainer only once or twice a week, with online fitness coaching you get ongoing support on your health and fitness journey that's customized to your needs and preferences.
- It's more cost-effective than in-person training. You can get a whole month of ongoing exercise and fitness coaching for the price of less than 4 in-person sessions.
- Location is not an issue. You can get our expert help from anywhere in the world!
2. How does online fitness coaching work?
Online fitness coaching means having your own personal trainer or kinesiologist, without having to schedule a time to see him/her in-person at a specific location. Online fitness coaching is also a much more cost-effective option than in-person training and you get exercise programs and nutrition coaching designed specifically for you and your goals.
With our online coaching programs, you'll be able to track your workouts, nutrition, body measurements, sleep, stress levels and many other factors that are relevant to your goals. You'll get all of this in addition to ongoing personal support and accountability from your personal trainer/kinesiologist so you have everything you need to transform your health and fitness.
We make use of a select few apps to communicate and track your workouts and nutrition, set new goals and tackle any obstacles that might come up.

3. What is the difference between online fitness coaching and online personal training?
The main difference is in the level of support. With online personal training we'll do the workouts together via video call whereas with online fitness coaching you'll be required to do workouts on your own.
Online personal training is meant to closely resemble regular in-person training. This means we'll schedule video calls at mutually agreed time and we'll do the workouts together. We'll go through the program together, adjust your form, give you instant feedback and everything else that comes with regular in-person training.
Online fitness coaching requires you to be more independent and complete all the tasks yourself. This pertains to workout, nutrition and everything else that's required of you to reach your goals. We'll provide you with guidance, accountabilty and support.

3. What is the difference between in-person and online fitness coaching?
Both options have their own pros and cons. Some people prefer to see their trainer/kinesiologist face-to-face and by scheduling an appointment it holds the client accountable. By having a trainer beside you, the trainer can provide you with encouragement and support during the session and adjust exercises and provide cues to ensure you have the right form and are working with sufficient intensity. Online fitness coaching is more about ongoing guidance, support, goal setting, habit coaching and focus on life outside of workouts like sleep, stress management, planning, etc. Compared to in-person training, online fitness coaching has the following benefits:
- You can work out anywhere and any time you want. You don't need to schedule a session with a trainer at a location and time that might be inconvenient for you.
- You'll get a detailed workout program individualized to you, your goals and equipment available that you can do anywhere. Some of my clients work out from home, some prefer to work out in their condo gym, whilst others travel a lot and need frequent program adjustments based on their current circumstances.
- It's more cost effective. Unlike in-person training, you are not paying a trainer a high hourly rate, so you are getting ongoing support at a fraction of a price.

7. I'm a complete beginner when it comes to exercise. Will this work for me?
Yes! We worked with many clients who were completely new to exercise and healthy eating when they started. After an initial assessment, we'll use that information to create exercise and nutrition programs that are appropriate to you. As you continue to make progress, we'll adjust the program based on your feedback and results to avoid plateaus and ensure that you are adhering and enjoying the program!
8. Do I need to join a gym?
You don't have to join the gym, unless you want to! Depending on your health and fitness goals, you can achieve great results without ever leaving your house. We have clients who work out from their home, garage, parks, condo gym, commercial gyms, etc.
9. What if I travel often?
Online fitness coaching is ideal in case you travel a lot. We'll develop completely customized workouts based on the equipment you have available. This might be just bodyweight exercises or using portable pieces of equipment like bands and sliding discs or perhaps you'll go to a place where there is a gym but there are limited options compared to regular, commercial gyms. We'll provide you with accountability and support to ensure you don't miss any workouts and keep progressing. And if you need live guidance, we can schedule live personal training sessions.
10. What kind of results can I expect?
Most of our clients achieve noticeable results within 8-12 weeks, however, this depends on your goals and how much work you put in. Small actions add up to significant results over time, so we'll ensure you stay focused and only use methods that are most productive for your goals. Real health and fitness transformation takes work and time. Our job is to ensure you are doing everything right for your goals and provide support, accountability and motivation.
11. What kind of results have your clients achieved so far?
Our clients have achieved a wide range of health and fitness goals by working with us, including better strength, energy, health, sleep, endurance, more confidence, more muscle, less body fat, etc. Here are some specific examples:
- The 57-year old female who lost almost 60 Ibs and regained mobility, energy and got rid of ankle and knee pain.
- The 41-year old female who lost 20 Ibs and run her first 5K
- The 35-year old male who improved his lower body strength and power to run his best half-marathon time to date
- The 38-year old female who lost 50 Ibs, improved her confidence and sleep and now is an avid runner preparing for her first marathon.
- Check out our Success Stories page for more info.
12. How will I communicate with you?
You'll be able to text or email us at any time! All of our coaching options include 24/7 email, text support and monthly coaching calls. In case we decide we need more live guidance we can schedule live personal training sessions at an additional cost.
13. How often will you check in with me?
To keep you accountable we'll check in with you at least twice a week, but we can increase or decrease check-in frequency based on your specific goals and preferences. In case we think you might benefit from more frequent check-ins, we might check in with you a couple of times a week! Once a week we'll do a detailed review on everything related to exercise and nutrition to ensure consistent progress and make program modifications where appropriate.
14. What happens after my coaching package expires?
That really depends on how close you were to your final goal when we started the training program. Some clients have achieved a great deal of progress during the coaching process and after a brief chat at the end of their program feel confident being on their own. Others prefer to continue to use our expert support and guidance after their package ends. After your package ends you'll have an option to chose month-to-month coaching option or getting another coaching package (3, 6 or 12 months options). This will depend on the level of change we need to achieve and the degree to which the coaching relationship is preferable to training alone.
